Structured data is not optional. It is the technical foundation for being cited in the AI search era.
When Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and ChatGPT gather information from the web, which pages do they understand and cite more readily? Pages carrying structured data, over plain text pages. This piece explains the effect of JSON-LD Schema on citation rate, with real data and code.
AI search crawlers can read plain text, but they are limited at grasping context. A sentence like "Intesol Korea provides AI search visibility services" is readable, yet what kind of company this is, how to contact it, and where it is based are hard to establish mechanically.
JSON-LD Schema supplies that information in a machine-readable structure. An AI crawler reads the Schema and immediately establishes: this page is an Organization, the service is AI search optimisation, the location is Seoul.
Across Intesol Korea client projects over the last three months, the before-and-after difference in AI citation rate is unambiguous.
Schema alone does not solve everything, of course — content quality, authority signals and technical accessibility have to be in place too. But without Schema, every other optimisation effort loses about half its effect.
The baseline every business site should carry. Essential for an AI to recognise you as a real, trustworthy entity.

Checking your Schema is simple. Enter the URL in Google’s Rich Results Test (search.google.com/test/rich-results) and you see the parse result immediately. No errors or warnings means AI crawlers can read it too.
Schema validation is part of the Intesol Korea AI visibility diagnostic. Check the state of your structured data for free.
